Cruzeiro readies squad for Brasileirão clash with Internacional after signings

Brazilian club Cruzeiro activated the international transfer window on 20 July, registering several new players. The club secured Argentine left‑back Gabriel Rojas from Racing and forward Gabriel Pec, who returned after a spell with the Los Angeles Galaxy. It also completed the permanent purchase of striker Luis Sinisterra from Bournemouth for €3.5 million. Media reports link former Brazil‑World Cup midfielder Fabinho to a possible move to Cruzeiro, though no contract has been confirmed.

In preparation for the Brasileirão resumption, Cruzeiro will face Internacional at the Beira‑Río stadium on 22 July, the first match after the World‑Cup break. Coach Artur Jorge has used the interim period for tactical adjustments and to integrate the newcomers, while also dealing with several departures, including William Fernando to Avaí, Kaiki to Italy's Como, and midfielder Christian to Russia's Krasnodar.

The new arrivals are expected to bolster a midfield that lost regular starter Lucas Romero to suspension, and to provide depth across the squad as Cruzeiro aims to improve its league standing.
