Cruzeiro do Sul celebrates 122nd anniversary with parade and book launch
Cruzeiro do Sul celebrated its 122nd anniversary with a series of commemorative events, including a large-scale civic-military parade and a book launch.
The parade, held in the city center, featured approximately 10,000 participants from 67 different institutions. The procession included members of the military, security forces, schools, religious groups, and social entities. Participating organizations included the Navy, Army, Air Force, Military Police, Fire Department, and various educational institutions such as the Federal Institute of Acre (Ifac) and the Federal University of Acre (Ufac).
In addition to the parade, the city marked the occasion with the launch of the book ‘Mariano Maciel: Uma História de Vida’ at the Museu José de Alencar. Written by journalist and radio personality Mariano Maciel, the book chronicles his professional journey in communication, spanning from his early career in local radio to his work in Brasília, serving as a preservation of regional journalistic history.
