Cruzeiro do Sul water shortages under MPAC investigation
The Public Ministry of the State of Acre (MPAC) has launched a civil inquiry to investigate recurring water shortages and insufficient supply in Cruzeiro do Sul. The investigation focuses on the Remanso, Telégrafo, and Cobal neighborhoods, where residents have reported prolonged periods without potable water.
Reports gathered by the MPAC indicate that residents have faced significant service interruptions throughout 2026. In some instances, communities reported being without regular water supply for up to 17 days without emergency assistance from water trucks. The inquiry aims to identify the causes of these interruptions, determine the responsibilities of the involved agencies, and establish necessary measures to ensure regular service.
