Cruzeiro evaluates squad performance and player adaptation

Cruzeiro is currently re-evaluating its squad composition and technical requirements under manager Artur Jorge. The club is balancing the need for new talent with strict financial responsibility and wage reductions.

Recent reinforcements include three players arriving from Arab football: Wesley, João Costa (from Al-Ettifaq), and Lucho Rodríguez (on loan from Neom). While Wesley has seen the most significant playing time with twelve appearances and one goal, the group as a whole is still working to adapt to the physical and tactical demands of Brazilian football.

Additionally, the club faces challenges regarding young Colombian forward Néiser Villarreal. Despite high expectations following his success with the Colombian U-20 national team, Villarreal has struggled with inconsistency, missed scoring opportunities, and recurring injuries that have limited his minutes on the pitch.
