Cruzeiro midfielder Gerson faces lawsuit over unpaid legal fees

Cruzeiro midfielder Gerson and his father, Marcos Antônio da Silva, are facing a lawsuit in Rio de Janeiro filed by the law firm Motta Morais Sociedade Individual de Advocacia. The firm is seeking R$ 73,766.80 due to an alleged breach of contract regarding legal services.

The agreement, signed in March 2025, was intended to provide legal counsel in corporate, labor, tax, and contractual areas, as well as managing judicial and administrative processes. The firm claims that the monthly fees, originally set at R$ 8,000 for 36 months, were not paid between January and July 2026. Representatives stated they attempted to resolve the matter administratively before pursuing legal action.

Gerson joined Cruzeiro in January 2026 from Zenit following a transfer valued at approximately 27 million euros, marking him as one of the most expensive signings in Brazilian football history. His career includes previous stints at Fluminense, Roma, Fiorentina, Flamengo, and Olympique de Marseille.
