Cruzeiro renews goalkeeper Otávio's contract until 2031

Cruzeiro has officially announced the contract renewal of 20-year-old goalkeeper Otávio, extending his stay with the club until July 2031. The move is intended to protect the young talent from international market interest.

Otávio, a product of Cruzeiro’s youth academy who joined the club at age 10, rose to prominence this season after assuming the starting position following a serious knee injury to Cássio. He has since made 22 appearances, conceding 19 goals.

The renewal comes amid reported interest from international clubs, including English Premier League side Nottingham Forest, which has reportedly prepared an offer of approximately 13 million euros (roughly 76 million reais) for the player.
