Cruzeiro signs Argentine left‑back Gabriel Rojas as Kaiki heads to Italy
Brazilian club Cruzeiro confirmed the arrival of Argentine left‑back Gabriel Rojas, who landed in Belo Horizonte on Friday. Rojas signed a contract through the end of 2029 for a reported fee of US$6 million (about 31 million reais) and is expected to become a starter, expressing his desire to play in the Copa Libertadores.
Rojas joins Cruzeiro after 17 appearances for Racing, where he scored once and recorded six assists, and after spells with San Lorenzo, Peñarol and Querétaro. He was on the preliminary list for Argentina’s World Cup squad but did not make the final roster.
The signing coincides with Cruzeiro’s plan to sell young left‑back Kaiki to Serie C side Como in Italy. Earlier talks mentioned a €15 million (≈US$89 million) offer, with Kaiki retaining a 20 percent sell‑on clause. Details are still being finalised, but the move is seen as part of Cruzeiro’s broader squad overhaul ahead of the new season.
