Cruzeiro to miss Lucas Romero as Internacional eyes new striker ahead of clash
Cruzeiro is preparing for its 19th‑round Brasileirão match against Internacional on 22 July 2026 at Beira‑Rio, but will be without Argentine midfielder Lucas Romero. The player was suspended after accumulating yellow cards, leaving coach Arthur Jorge to consider alternatives, with Matheus Henrique likely to start in midfield.
Internacional, meanwhile, is evaluating options to strengthen its attack after the departure of Rafael Borré. The club has looked at André Silva and Pedro Raul without success and is now considering a loan for 24‑year‑old striker Thiago Borbas, who belongs to Bragantino and was most recently on loan at Real Oviedo. The team has also recently added Chilean defender Maripán and goalkeeper Matheus Cunha on loan.
Both clubs are making strategic roster moves as they gear up for the pivotal league encounter.
