Crvena zvezda players adapt to Ibon Navaro’s new system
Crvena zvezda players are adjusting to a new tactical system under head coach Ibon Navaro as the EuroLeague season approaches. Players noted that Navaro’s philosophy is significantly different from previous coaching styles, characterized by a faster pace and more offensive intensity.
Center Džonatan Motli described the shift as “heaven and earth” compared to the more methodical approach used by former coach Dimitris Itudis. Motli emphasized that the team is currently working to reduce turnovers and improve decision-making at a higher speed.
Forward Čima Moneke highlighted potential challenges regarding player roles, noting that Navaro’s system often limits playing time to under 25 minutes per player. Moneke suggested that while professional egos might make this transition difficult, the team must trust the process and the coach’s broader vision to succeed.
