Crvena zvezda to have 14 players called up for international duty
Crvena zvezda will have 14 players called up to various national teams during the upcoming international break. The largest contingent will represent Serbia, including Vasilije Kostov and Vladimir Lučić for the senior team, as well as several players for the U21, U19, and U18 squads.
Other international representatives include Timi Maks Elšnik (Slovenia), Gon Kim (South Korea U21), Muhamed Bađo (Gambia), Abu Fani (Israel), Kristijan Balov (Bulgaria), Loizos Loizu (Cyprus), Matej Gaštarov (North Macedonia), and Derik Lukasen (Ghana). The diverse distribution of players across different continents presents a scheduling challenge for manager Alberto Riera, as players will return at different times ahead of a busy club schedule starting October 10.
Following a 3-0 victory against Radnički Niš, manager Alberto Riera expressed dissatisfaction with the team's rhythm and dynamism. Despite the win, Riera noted that the current pace of play is sufficient for the Serbian Super League but insufficient for European competition, emphasizing the need for increased speed and tactical unpredictability.
