Crypto analysts see altcoin winter ending and Bitcoin bottom by late 2026

Analyst Michael van de Poppe says the prolonged decline in altcoins is nearing its end. He keeps about 98 % of his portfolio in altcoins, rotating capital to capture short‑term moves and planning to increase exposure to Bitcoin, Ethereum and cash later. His current focus is on Avalanche (AVAX), where he has invested roughly $3,000 and may raise the stake to $7‑10 k if the token rebounds to $7, and on NEAR, which previously rose from $1.20 to $3.50, providing partial profits.

Separately, market commentators predict Bitcoin could form a bottom in October 2026, with price targets around $48‑50 k after a potential 80 % drop from its $120 k peak. The cryptocurrency is trading near $65 k, still above the projected trough. At the same time, gold analysts warn the metal may slide toward $3,500 per ounce.
