Crypto Markets See $326M in Liquidations Amid Heightened Volatility
Over the past 24 hours, leveraged cryptocurrency positions worth roughly $326.6 million were liquidated across major exchanges, reflecting persistent volatility and crowded betting. Long positions accounted for about $200.5 million (62%) and short positions $125.5 million (38%). Binance led the activity with $8.23 million liquidated (42.5% of the total), followed by OKX with $3.32 million and Hyperliquid with $2.48 million. Bitcoin (BTC) recorded the largest token‑specific wipeout at about $71.2 million, while Ethereum (ETH) saw around $61 million in liquidations.
In a separate hourly burst, more than $50 million of crypto positions were forced closed within a single hour, with Bitcoin accounting for $11.27 million of that total. This rapid flush highlighted a sharp, short‑term stress on leveraged traders, though detailed breakdowns of long versus short positions were not confirmed.
