Crypto platforms aim to become super-apps through integrated services

Cryptocurrency exchanges are seeking to evolve into “super-apps” by integrating services such as payments and lending to maintain user engagement outside of active trading periods.

At the TOKEN2049 event in Singapore, Martin Masser, Director of Strategic Partnerships at ChangeNOW, noted that users often open financial apps to check balances or transaction histories without the intent to trade, similar to traditional banking habits. A 2026 study by Kaiko suggests that exchanges are transitioning into comprehensive financial platforms that link trading balances with yield products and payment services.

This integration aims to solve common user friction points, such as the complexity of transferring assets like USDT between different blockchains. By unifying these steps within a single application, platforms hope to provide a more seamless experience as user needs evolve.
