Crypto platforms Lemon and Crypto.com adjust Brazilian operations

Cryptocurrency platforms Crypto.com and Lemon are adjusting their operations in Brazil following new regulatory frameworks from the Central Bank.

Lemon has announced it will completely cease its operations in Brazil, citing new regulatory requirements that the company claims do not favor the development of sector products. The Lemon Card will stop functioning on September 30, and Brazilian accounts will be automatically closed on October 16. This exit follows a recent expansion attempt by the Argentine-founded company.

Crypto.com will maintain its presence in the country but will discontinue its BRL (real) account on October 25, 2026. This change means users will no longer be able to deposit, withdraw, or trade directly between Brazilian reais and cryptocurrencies within the app. However, the company will continue to offer services such as the trading and custody of over 400 cryptocurrencies and the use of its Visa card.
