Cryptocurrency and CDI investment strategies show high returns

Investment strategies involving cryptocurrency and fixed income have shown significant potential through specific operational methods. A portfolio composed of 40% Bitcoin and 60% CDI, when rebalanced periodically, yielded an 85% return over five years. This outperformed both Bitcoin (45%) and CDI (78%) individually. The success is attributed to rebalancing, which forces the investor to sell assets after a price increase and buy after a decrease to maintain the original proportions.

Additionally, the Long & Short strategy in the crypto market has demonstrated high returns and lower volatility. According to Valter Rebelo, head of digital assets at Empiricus Research, this strategy involves taking long positions on assets with high potential and simultaneous short positions on assets expected to fall. Since 2020, this approach has reportedly delivered returns significantly higher than Bitcoin alone, including a 36% gain in 2022 when Bitcoin fell by 64%. The strategy aims to reduce market dependency and mitigate the impact of large fluctuations.
