Cryptocurrency and gold markets react to SEC proposals and shifting interest rates
Financial markets are experiencing significant activity across cryptocurrencies, precious metals, and foreign exchange. Bitcoin has shown upward momentum, with prices fluctuating around the 66,000 USD mark, supported by stable ETF inflows.
In the United States, the SEC is proposing new regulatory frameworks that could allow certain crypto projects to raise up to 75 million USD annually without full securities registration. Additionally, a White House summit involving industry leaders from Coinbase and Ripple, alongside regulators from the SEC and CFTC, addressed market structure and the CLARITY Act.
Ripple has raised 275 million USD to expand its prime brokerage and multi-asset clearing services in the U.S. Meanwhile, institutional interest in XRP ETFs is growing, with Jane Street significantly increasing its holdings.
In traditional markets, gold prices remain high near 4,520 USD, driven by central bank purchases and declining U.S. interest rates. The USD/JPY exchange rate is hovering around 159.05, influenced by expectations of a Bank of Japan rate hike and caution regarding potential market intervention.
