Cryptocurrency market faces stagnation as Bitcoin and Ethereum lose momentum

The cryptocurrency market is experiencing a period of stagnation and mixed signals. Major assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum have shown weakness, trading within congestion zones and losing momentum as indicated by RSI levels. Bitcoin has seen recent declines, while Ethereum remains in a lateral phase. In contrast, certain sectors are performing well; Zcash has emerged as a top performer in September, significantly outperforming the broader market.

On the institutional side, stablecoins are increasingly integrating with traditional finance. Circle, the issuer of USDC, has reached an agreement to acquire the cross-border payment firm Tazapay for approximately $400 million to strengthen its payment infrastructure. Additionally, Visa reported a significant surge in stablecoin settlement volumes, which have reached an annualized rate of $20 billion.

Market participants are currently looking toward macroeconomic indicators for direction, specifically upcoming US inflation data (CPI) and fluctuations in oil prices, following the Labor Day holiday in the United States.
