Cryptocurrency markets face volatility amid shifting institutional trends

The cryptocurrency market is experiencing significant volatility and shifting institutional trends. Bitcoin is currently trading around $86,000, a decline from its October 2025 peak of $126,000. Analysts note that Bitcoin's price action is increasingly tied to US macroeconomic factors, such as Federal Reserve policy and Treasury yields, rather than purely crypto-specific news. While spot trading volumes on platforms like Binance have recovered since July, experts warn of potential price pullbacks due to technical sell signals and liquidation risks near the $90,000 and $83,000 levels.

In the altcoin sector, XRP has seen a surge in activity, particularly in South Korea, where its trading volume on local exchanges recently overtook Bitcoin. This rise coincides with Ripple deepening its ties with Korean financial institutions, including Kakao Bank, Woori Bank, and Kbank, to explore blockchain infrastructure and cross-border payments. Additionally, US-based spot XRP ETFs have recorded 12 consecutive weeks of net inflows.

Institutional interest remains notable, with Morgan Stanley’s Bitcoin ETF approaching a $1 billion milestone after amassing approximately 10,519 BTC within five months of its launch.
