Crystal Harris urges Jessica Biel to reconsider Playboy film role

Crystal Harris, the widow of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, has publicly urged actress Jessica Biel to reconsider her role in the upcoming film ‘Playmates’. Biel has been cast to portray a fictionalized version of Hefner’s wife in the Searchlight production.

In a message shared on Instagram, Harris warned against the potential for Hollywood to romanticize the Playboy lifestyle. Harris, who was married to Hefner from 2012 until his death in 2017, stated that she experienced sexual, emotional, physical, and financial abuse during their marriage. She also noted that numerous other women have leveled allegations of sexual assault, coercion, drug use, and exploitation regarding the Playboy environment.

The film, directed by Lorraine Nicholson, is expected to follow the lives of two young women within the Playboy ecosystem. Harris urged the filmmakers to listen to the survivors of these experiences before turning the history into a nostalgic entertainment piece.
