Crystal Lake horror series to premiere October 2026

The horror prequel series ‘Crystal Lake’, set in the ‘Friday the 13th’ universe, is scheduled to premiere on Peacock on October 15, 2026. Produced by A24 and created by Brad Caleb Kane, the eight-episode series stars Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees.

The plot focuses on the events leading up to the original films, following Pam, a single mother struggling with the death of her son, Jason. The narrative is triggered when two strangers arrive to investigate her past, leading to unsettling events in the town of Crystal Lake. Showrunner Brad Caleb Kane noted that the series aims to establish fresh lore rather than following the traditional tropes of the film franchise.

An exclusive first-look screening of the premiere episode will be held at New York Comic Con on October 8, 2026.
