Crystal Lake prequel series reveals new look and release date

Peacock and A24 have released new promotional posters for ‘Crystal Lake’, the upcoming eight-episode prequel series to the ‘Friday the 13th’ franchise. The series is scheduled to premiere all episodes on October 15.

Set before the original film, the drama focuses on the psychological unraveling of Pamela Voorhees, played by Linda Cardellini. The story follows Pamela as she struggles with grief following the drowning of her young son, Jason, nearly a year prior. The plot is set in motion when two strangers arrive in town seeking information about her past.

Showrunner Brad Caleb Kane, who took over the project following the departure of Bryan Fuller, aims to explore Pamela’s character and her relationship with Jason. The new promotional material features the tagline, “Before Jason. . . There Was Pamela,” and highlights young Jason, played by Callum Vinson.
