Crystal Lake prequel series to Friday the 13th set for October 2026 release

The upcoming horror series "Crystal Lake" serves as a prequel to the Friday the 13th franchise. Created by Brad Caleb Kane and produced by A24, the eight‑part show follows single mother Pam Voorhees (Linda Cardellini) coping with the death of her son Jason at the eponymous lake.

A teaser footage and images have been released, confirming the cast—including William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins and Gwendolyn Sundstrom. The series will debut on Peacock in the United States on 15 October 2026, on Stan in Australia on 16 October 2026, and will be streamed exclusively on Sky and NOW in the United Kingdom and Ireland in October 2026. In Brazil, Universal+ will carry the series in October, while a Dutch release date has not yet been announced. The show expands the mythology of the long‑running slasher franchise with psychological horror and mystery elements.
