Crystal Palace manager Pierre Sage faces pressure after Newcastle defeat

Crystal Palace manager Pierre Sage is facing increasing scrutiny following a 2-0 home defeat to Newcastle United at Selhurst Park. The loss leaves the Eagles in 17th place in the Premier League, just one point above the relegation zone, after winning only two of their opening eight league matches.

Sage, who has been in charge for four months, has overseen five defeats in eight games. The team has struggled defensively, conceding 19 goals during this period. Despite the mounting pressure and boos from home supporters, Sage has maintained a focus on finding solutions and stated that the club remains focused on improving performance.

Reports suggest the club is already considering contingency options for a managerial replacement. Potential candidates being discussed include Sean Dyche, Thomas Frank, Kieran McKenna, and Vitor Pereira. Dyche has emerged as a strong favorite in betting markets to take over the role.
