Crystal Throne releases science-fiction concept album ‘Chantry Of Sacrifice’

French progressive metal band Crystal Throne has released their second album, ‘Chantry Of Sacrifice’. Founded in 2019 by guitarist Max Waynn and vocalist Terry DeFire, the group has gained attention in the underground metal scene following their 2021 debut.

The new release is a science-fiction concept album set in the year 5150. It follows the story of Hyldr, a war veteran who travels back in time to prevent the destruction of Earth. The album features new lineup additions, including second guitarist John Lemoine and drummer Guillaume Remih.

Musically, the album draws heavy inspiration from progressive metal acts such as Queensrÿche, Crimson Glory, and Symphony X. Notable tracks include ‘A Hero’s Call’, which utilizes science-fiction soundscapes, and ‘Antagonists’, which features guest vocals from French singer Cheyenne Janas.
