Csaba Sausage Festival hosts international sausage-making competition

The 29th Csaba Sausage Festival featured an international sausage-making competition with over 600 participating teams. The event took place across multiple venues, including the Mokry tent and the Munkácsy Arena, drawing thousands of attendees.

Participants utilized a variety of methods, ranging from traditional family recipes and century-old grinding equipment to unique modern tools. The competition included diverse entries, such as a team from Transylvania using a garlic-infused water technique without paprika, and a team from China participating as part of the Szatyi Stage Team. One notable entry from the Gyergyói Medvék team featured bear meat, contributing to the festival's gastronomic diversity.

A dedicated jury evaluated the entries based on hygiene, presentation, seasoning, and texture. The festival also included a youth category for high school and university students, emphasizing the preservation of culinary traditions among younger generations.
