César Jáuregui Moreno signals political ambitions for 2027 in Chihuahua
César Jáuregui Moreno, former state attorney general, is asserting his political intentions ahead of the 2027 elections in Chihuahua. During a meeting with residents in Bosques de San Francisco, Jáuregui stated that the upcoming elections are a battle to defend freedom and prevent the consolidation of what he described as an authoritarian regime driven by the 4T movement.
Internal friction is growing within the National Action Party (PAN) in Chihuahua. PAN state president Daniela Álvarez is reportedly attempting to mediate tensions between Jáuregui and Santiago de la Peña, the Secretary General of Government, both of whom are vying for political influence. While some party leaders suggest Jáuregui should pursue local or federal deputy roles rather than the mayoralty, he has indicated he will not withdraw his ambitions.
