César Pinares joins Audax Italiano to boost relegation fight

Chilean midfielder César Pinares, 35, is set to sign with Audax Italiano after leaving Deportes Limache. The transfer comes as Audax battles to avoid dropping to Primera B and expects Pinares to be a key reinforcement for the second half of the Primera División season.

Pinares, who has previously played for Colo Colo, Chievo Verona, San Luis de Quillota, Universidad Católica and Gremio, was linked with several other clubs, including Rangers de Talca, Unión Española and Deportes Temuco, but indicated a preference for joining the Santiago‑based side.
