César Ramos returns to Liga MX for Matchday 12

César Arturo Ramos Palazuelos is set to return to Liga MX for Matchday 12 of the Apertura 2026 tournament. The three-time World Cup referee will officiate the match between Rayados and Pachuca on Sunday, October 18.

Ramos had been absent from the league for six consecutive matchdays. His absence followed a period officiating in Japan's J1 League and a controversy involving an amateur match that resulted in a confrontation. Following the incident, the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) had advised affiliated referees to avoid officiating such amateur games.

Additionally, referee Óscar Mejía will not serve as a central official for Matchday 12 following criticism of his performance in the América vs. Monterrey match. He has been assigned as a fourth official for the Cruz Azul vs. FC Juárez game instead.
