CSG Defence acquires indirect stake in Hungary's Rába

The transaction between 4iG and the Czech-based Czechoslovak Group (CSG) has concluded, resulting in CSG Defence acquiring an indirect 36.55 percent stake and 36.88 percent indirect influence in Rába Járműipari Holding Nyrt.

As part of the deal, CSG Defence purchased a 49 percent stake in 4iG SDT EGY Zrt., a subsidiary of 4iG Space and Defense Zrt. Following this restructuring, 4iG's indirect stake in Rába has decreased to 38.04 percent, though it remains a determining owner. The transaction received necessary regulatory approvals from the Hungarian National Bank, as well as competition authorities in Germany and Austria.

The agreement establishes a strategic defense industry partnership. Rába is expected to participate in international export programs for CSG and Tatra Trucks, potentially taking on manufacturing tasks in Hungary for several thousand military vehicles and Tatra trucks. Additionally, Rába may assist in the maintenance and repair of the Hungarian Defense Forces' Gidrán 4x4 armored vehicles. Plans also include the HUMARS program, involving 4iG, Rába, and Lockheed Martin. 4iG intends to invest approximately 100 billion forints into the technological modernization and development of the Győr-based plant.
