CSIF Demands Uniform School Calendar, Holds 200-Delegate Meeting in Huelva
The Central Sindical Independiente y de Funcionarios (CSIF) convened its traditional Institutional and Delegates Meeting on Thursday at the Colombinas festival in Huelva, drawing more than 200 participants including union members, political representatives, security forces, and local business leaders. The gathering, attended by CSIF Andalucía president Germán Girela and provincial president Juan Manuel Quilón, marked the symbolic start of CSIF’s involvement in Colombinas 2026.
In a separate action, CSIF issued a press release demanding that the infant schools managed by the Castilla‑La Mancha regional government adopt the same academic calendar as other educational stages. The union highlighted staff shortages that force 38 regional centers to remain open until July 31, while other levels finish by late June. CSIF called on the regional education ministry to guarantee full staffing throughout July and to align the calendar, quoting spokeswoman María José Sánchez: “The final days of the school year are essential for preparing the next, and lacking coverage jeopardises that work.”
