Csiki Zsolt resigns from municipal council amid poaching investigation
Csiki Zsolt, a municipal councilor for the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania (RMDSZ) in Târgu Mureș, has resigned from his position. His resignation follows an investigation into suspected illegal poaching.
Csiki, who also serves as the director of the Szász Adalbert Sport High School, stated that his decision was made to ensure the uninterrupted work of the local council and to serve the interests of the community. He emphasized that his resignation does not constitute an admission of guilt and maintained that he remains innocent of the allegations.
The investigation began after staff from the Turul Sport Hunting and Angling Association reported finding two men on the Ernye hunting grounds. They were suspected of illegally killing a female red deer, with concerns that a second animal may have also been targeted. Reports indicated that Csiki's vehicle was located at the scene.
