Cēsis Municipality: Drunk quad bike driver with child flees police
Police in Cēsis Municipality, Latvia, apprehended a quad bike driver who attempted to flee from officers while intoxicated. The incident occurred in Vaive Parish when officers observed a man operating a quad bike without a helmet while a child was also on the vehicle.
After ignoring police signals to stop, the driver led officers on a pursuit, eventually entering a farm territory where he abandoned the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. Upon his arrest, breathalyzer tests revealed a blood alcohol concentration of 2.69 per mille. The driver also lacked a valid driving license.
A criminal process has been initiated for driving under the influence.
