CSKA legend Nikodimov criticizes delay in new coach selection

CSKA legend Asparuh Nikodimov has criticized the delay in selecting a new head coach for CSKA Sofia following the departure of Hristo Yanev. Nikodimov noted that the club should have already appointed a successor before the conclusion of the international break.

Nikodimov expressed skepticism regarding the club's recent trend of hiring foreign specialists, stating that previous attempts with international coaches yielded no results and incurred higher costs. He argued that foreign coaches often leave after a few unsuccessful matches before they have had sufficient time to adapt to the team and the environment.

Regarding Hristo Yanev, Nikodimov praised his intelligence and familiarity with the club, suggesting he could be a strong candidate in the future, though he remarked it would be inappropriate to reinstate him immediately after his departure.
