CSKA Sofia moves to extend contract of goalkeeper Fyodor Lapoochov

Bulgarian club CSKA Sofia is preparing a new contract for its Belarusian goalkeeper Fyodor Lapoochov, whose performances in the Europa League qualifying round against Karabakh helped the team advance after extra‑time and a penalty shoot‑out. Lapoochov’s current deal runs until the summer of 2028, but club officials want to secure him for a longer period and are offering a higher salary to persuade him to stay.

Coach Christo Yanev praised Lapoochov’s impact and the club is also aware of growing interest from foreign sides. Negotiations are expected to begin soon as CSKA aims to keep the player in Sofia for the foreseeable future.
