CSKA Sofia starts pre‑season with Austrian camp and Ukrainian friendlies
CSKA Sofia will begin its pre‑season training on 10 June at the club’s base in Pancharevo, with a short media session before the squad’s first drill. Head coach Hristo Yanev is scheduled to address journalists at 17:30.
The team will travel to Austria on 16 June for a two‑week camp, during which it will play three scheduled friendly matches. The first test will be on 20 June against Ukrainian champions Dynamo Kyiv, followed by a game on 24 June versus Ukrainian bronze‑medalists Polissya Zhytomyr. A third friendly on 27 June is set against Azerbaijani side FK Qarabağ, though the opponent could be changed depending on European competition draws. CSKA will return to Bulgaria on 30 June and conclude the camp with a final friendly on 3 July against Marek Dupnitsa.
In player news, central midfielder Isaac Sole, who joined from Slavia Sofia in the winter, is highlighted as a potential key contributor. Formerly with Turkish side Göztepe, Sole’s technical abilities are praised, while concerns are raised about his defensive aggressiveness. The club remains active in the transfer market, but no new signings have been confirmed ahead of the season.
