CSKA Sofia to reopen renovated Bulgarian Army Stadium
CSKA Sofia is set to return to its historic Bulgarian Army Stadium, with the official reopening scheduled for October 31 during a match against Slavia Sofia. The renovated facility is designed to be a multifunctional venue meeting UEFA Category 4 standards.
Technical Director Mikhail Alexandrov stated that documentation is complete and the club is awaiting final licensing from the Bulgarian Football Union, which is expected within one to two days. He noted that UEFA officials inspected the site for upcoming European matches and cited the stadium as a model for European clubs with capacities under 20,000.
Club legend Stoycho Mladenov commented on the stadium's potential impact, describing the new acoustics and fan density as a factor that will create a more intense atmosphere, acting as a “12th player” for the team.
