CSKA wrestlers included in preliminary World Wrestling Championship lists
Olympic champion Semen Novikov, European champion Kiril Milov, and other CSKA wrestlers have appeared on the preliminary lists released by United World Wrestling (UWW) for the upcoming World Wrestling Championships in Kazakhstan.
Previously, these classical style wrestlers from CSKA were not registered for the tournament due to non-compliance with the Bulgarian Wrestling Federation’s centralized training regulations. Following the election of Todor Angelov as the new leadership, there has been movement to expand the Bulgarian squad. While it remains unclear whether the registration was facilitated by the new leadership or during the final days of Stanka Zlateva’s administration, the federation noted that Zlateva had requested the registration.
Bulgaria is expected to have nearly full male teams. The men's roster likely includes Edmond Nazaryan, Abu-Muslim Amaev, Stefan Grigorov, Stoyan Kubatov, and Dimitar Georgiev in classical style, as well as Magomed Ramazanov, Ahmed Bataev, Ahmed Magamaev, Shamil Mamedov, Mikya Naim, and Georgi Ivanov in freestyle. The women's representation is significantly smaller, with only Bilyana Dudova registered for the championships.
