CSN to sell German steelmaker SWT to Spain's Bipadosa for €550 million

CSN has signed a binding agreement to sell its German steel producer, Stahlwerk Thüringen (SWT), to the Spanish company Bipadosa, which controls the Megasa industrial group. The transaction is valued at an enterprise value of 550 million euros, though the final amount is subject to adjustments.

The deal includes a 10-week exclusivity period for negotiations and the drafting of definitive contracts. The sale is part of CSN's broader strategic divestment program aimed at reducing the company's debt levels.

Located in Unterwellenborn, Germany, SWT specializes in long steel products and has an annual production capacity of 1.1 million tons. CSN originally acquired the company in 2012 to expand its geographic footprint and product portfolio. The buyer, Megasa, maintains industrial operations across Spain, Portugal, and France.
