Csongrád-Csanád county orders animal quarantine and grazing ban

The Csongrád-Csanád County Government Office has ordered an animal quarantine and a grazing ban across the entire administrative area of Csongrád-Csanád county. The restrictions are set to take effect from October 3, 2026, until October 23, 2026.

During this period, dogs and cats must be kept confined in their housing or tethered to prevent contact with humans or other animals. Dogs may only be taken outside on a leash and wearing a muzzle. Only animals with valid rabies vaccinations and approval from an official veterinarian are permitted to be taken out of settlement areas. Certain exceptions apply to hunting dogs, service dogs, and assistance dogs for the visually impaired. Additionally, events involving the confrontation of meat-eating animals are prohibited, and grazing is banned throughout the specified territory.
