CTA de los Trabajadores announces candidates for internal elections

The CTA de los Trabajadores (CTA-T) has presented its list of candidates for the upcoming internal elections scheduled for November 3. During a plenary session in Rosario, Hugo Yasky announced he will step down as General Secretary to make way for Roberto Baradel, the leader of the Unified Union of Education Workers of Buenos Aires (Suteba). At the local level, current General Secretary Paulo Juncos is running for reelection.

Yasky, who is also a national deputy, called for a new era of renewal within the labor movement. He urged trade unions to take a proactive stance against the current administration, emphasizing the need for organized mass mobilization to address anticipated social suffering. Yasky also criticized the current legislative activity in Congress, describing it as a “shameful spectacle” and calling for deep self-criticism within the union leadership.
