CTBC Brothers avoid sweep in CPBL Taiwan Series Game 4

The CTBC Brothers secured a 5-4 victory over the Wei Chuan Dragons in Game 4 of the CPBL Taiwan Series, preventing a series sweep. The win was clinched in the 11th inning when Zhan Zixian hit a walk-off single in front of 40,000 fans.

The victory brings the series score to 1-3, forcing a fifth game scheduled for the Taipei Dome on the 23rd. Historically, teams leading 3-1 have a high success rate, while the Dragons maintain a 100% championship record when leading 3-2 after five games.

However, the Brothers face significant pitching fatigue after relying heavily on foreign pitchers. The potential approach of Typhoon Rose may impact the schedule; under league rules, if a typhoon triggers work or school suspensions, the game will be postponed. Such a delay could provide the Brothers with much-needed rest for their pitching staff.
