Côte d’Ivoire and Cameroon to play friendly match in Abidjan

Côte d’Ivoire and Cameroon have agreed to play a high-profile friendly football match in Abidjan on October 3. The match features two of Africa's most successful national teams, which collectively hold eight continental titles.

The encounter comes as part of a FIFA-aligned international window. The Ivorian squad, now led by coach Hervé Renard, is currently involved in qualifying matches for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN). The Cameroonian side, known as the Indomitable Lions, will travel to Abidjan following their scheduled fixtures in the CAN 2027 qualification process.
