Athletics officials in Côte d'Ivoire hold anti-doping awareness session
The Ivorian Athletics Federation (FIA) and the National Anti-Doping Organization of Côte d'Ivoire (ONAD-CIV) held an information and awareness session at the National Institute of Youth and Sports (INJS) in Abidjan on September 4, 2026.
Approximately fifty participants, including athletes, coaches, technical officials, and medical and administrative staff, attended the event to promote clean athletics. The session focused on preventing rule violations and strengthening knowledge regarding anti-doping regulations. Émile N’Goran, Testing and Education Manager at ONAD-CIV, emphasized that doping is defined by the violation of one or more anti-doping rules, rather than just the presence of a prohibited substance.
Key topics included the 11 types of anti-doping rule violations, the use of the ADAMS system for athlete tracking and test planning, and the practical steps involved in the testing process. The session also addressed the risks associated with dietary supplements, noting that their actual composition may not always match their labeling.
