Côte d'Ivoire completes rehabilitation of Korhogo-Boundiali road
The 99-kilometer road connecting Korhogo and Boundiali in northern Côte d'Ivoire has been fully rehabilitated, restoring fluid transit between these two regional hubs. The project addresses years of severe road degradation, including potholes and worn asphalt, which previously caused frequent mechanical failures and delayed the transport of agricultural goods.
Transport operators report significant improvements, noting reduced vehicle wear on tires and shock absorbers, as well as a reduction in time lost to mechanical repairs. This renovation is part of a broader national infrastructure modernization program. Between 2011 and 2024, the Ivorian government invested over 4,000 billion CFA francs in road infrastructure, expanding the paved national network from 6,514 kilometers to 8,500 kilometers through the construction of new roads and the reinforcement of existing ones.
