Burkina Faso launches mandatory patriotic immersion for over 22,600 new bacheliers

On 28 July 2026, Governor Abdoulaye Bassinga inaugurated the nationwide mandatory patriotic immersion for the 22 187 newly‑graduated bacheliers in the Kadiogo region, a programme backed by President Ibrahim Traoré. The 30‑day training will be held at 44 sites and includes 12 853 female participants, focusing on national symbols, history and civic duties.

The same day, Governor Abdoul Karim Zongo opened the second edition of the immersion in the Liptako‑Soum region, enrolling 475 new bacheliers (219 girls) across three locations – Dori, Djibo and Gorom‑Gorom. The immersion runs from 27 July to 26 August 2026 nationwide, aiming to instil patriotism, discipline and social cohesion among Burkina Faso’s youth.

Both regional launches stress the government’s goal of turning the new generation into responsible citizens who respect institutions and contribute to the country’s development.
