Côte d'Ivoire seeks Chinese investment through Shanghai mission

The Centre de Promotion des Investissements en Côte d'Ivoire (CEPICI) has intensified efforts in Shanghai to attract Chinese capital to Abidjan. This economic offensive aims to convert growing interest from Chinese industrial groups, financial institutions, and technology firms into concrete financial commitments.

This strategy is part of a broader effort by Côte d'Ivoire to diversify its economic partners and anchor its economy within Asian financing circuits, amid a shifting relationship with traditional European partners. The country is leveraging its status as a gateway to West Africa and its robust macroeconomic stability, supported by a 6.5% GDP growth rate.

Targeted sectors for investment include infrastructure, agro-industry, energy, and port logistics. The mission seeks to move beyond preliminary discussions to secure signed agreements, factory establishments, and co-financing for large-scale structural projects.
