Côte d'Ivoire's Baleine Phase 3 secures FPSO and flowline contracts

Altera Infrastructure has contracted Chinese engineering firm Wison New Energies to build a 90,000‑bpd floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel for Eni's Baleine Phase 3 offshore oil project off Côte d'Ivoire. The FPSO will also process 160 million standard cubic feet of gas per day and store 1.4 million barrels of crude, then be leased to Eni for 15 years.

TechnipFMC has been awarded a separate contract to supply flexible flowlines and risers that will connect wells in about 1,200 metres of water to the new FPSO. The deal, valued between $75 million and $250 million, supports the project's expansion to 150,000 bpd of oil and 200 million cubic feet of gas per day, the largest offshore development in West Africa. All gas is slated for Côte d'Ivoire’s domestic market to boost electricity and industry.
