Côte-d'Or allocates 45 million euros to education and security

The Côte-d'Or Departmental Council has announced a budget of approximately 45 million euros for education this year. During an annual meeting with middle school leadership, President François Sauvadet and Vice-President Catherine Louis outlined priorities including building renovations, energy efficiency, school catering, and security.

Security remains a central focus for the region. This follows the reopening of the Champollion middle school in Dijon after a criminal arson attack. In a separate recent incident at Camille-Claudel middle school in Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur, students and teachers were confined to classrooms following an intrusion alert. The situation was later resolved when it was discovered the intruder was a staff member who had climbed a gate after forgetting his keys.
