Côte-d’Or teachers call June 19 strike over school job cuts

The inter‑syndicale of Côte‑d’Or, comprising unions such as FSU, SNUDI‑FO, UNSA Éducation, CFDT, CGT and SUD, announced a mass strike for Friday 19 June during the CSA Adjustement. They will rally at 8:30 am in front of the Canopé in Dijon, demanding the cancellation of planned post eliminations and the allocation of additional resources for schools, colleges and lycées. They cite the national suppression of 1,891 primary and 1,365 secondary posts, the lack of new CPE, Psy‑EN and AED positions, and insufficient creation of AESH posts for students with disabilities. In Côte‑d’Or, 164 posts are slated for removal, including 33 in the department, which they say will cause 63 class closures against only 23 openings.

A separate guide for parents explains how to determine whether college classes will operate during the strike. Secondary teachers are not required to announce strike participation in advance, so school administrations may not publish definitive timetables before the day. Parents are advised to check the school’s digital platform (ENT/Pronote), the academy’s website, and to be aware that the legal minimum service arrangement does not apply to colleges. If a majority of supervisory staff strike, the principal may close the school, affecting lessons, canteen services and transport.
