Côtes-d'Armor businesses explore housing projects to aid recruitment

In the Côtes-d'Armor department of Brittany, businesses are facing a housing shortage that is hindering recruitment efforts. To address this, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) for the Saint-Brieuc/Lamballe territory is studying a project to provide transitional housing for new employees, apprentices, and seasonal workers.

The proposed project involves constructing between 20 and 40 units per phase on a 6,500 m² site in Ploufragan, near Saint-Brieuc. This initiative, discussed with Action Logement and local housing actors, aims to provide temporary accommodation to help workers settle in the region. A survey of 3,000 local companies is being conducted to assess specific needs, with initial construction potentially starting by 2028.
